OVERDRIVE IOT PTE LTD, and its affiliated companies, and its affiliated companies worldwide (collectively “Overdrive”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) recognise and respect your right to privacy.

Overdrive gather and process your personal information in accordance with this privacy notice and in compliance with the relevant data protection Regulation and law. This notice provides you with the necessary information regarding your rights and obligations, and explain how, why and when we collect and process your personal data.

1. Information That We Collect

1.1. Information you give us

You may give us with information about yourself by using the online forms provided on the Website or by contact us by phone, email, or other means. This includes, for example, filling in our “Contact Us” form on our Website or when you provide information to us in order to receive our services.

The information you give us may include: email address, name, mailing address, telephone number, company name, company address, job title, account information, and any updates to information provided to us.

Please note that we need certain types of information so that we can provide services to you. If you do not provide us with such information, or if you ask us to delete it, you may no longer be able to access our services.

Each time you visit the Website, we may automatically collect any of the following information:

1.3. Information we may receive from other sources

  • You obtain our services through one of our resellers or partners. The types of information that we may receive are the same as the information that you may give to us detailed in section 1.1 above.
  • You may use any of the other websites that we operate or the other services we provide. In this case, we will have informed you when we collected that data that it may be shared internally and combined with data collected on the Website. We may work with third parties (including, for example, analytics and search information providers) and may receive information about you from them.

2. Use Of Information

We, or third-party data processors acting on our behalf, collect, use, and store the Personal Information listed above to enable you to receive services for which you or your company have entered into a contract with us and/or because it is in the legitimate interests of Overdrive to handle your Personal Information. Specifically, we may collect, use, and store your Personal Information for the following reasons:

  • To register you for our services.
  • To assign a password.
  • To ensure that content from our Website or services are presented in the most efficient manner to you.
  • To provide you with information, products, or services that you request from us or which we feel may interest you, only where you have consented to be contacted for such purposes.
  • To carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you and us.
  • To allow you to participate in interactive features, such as “Live Chat,” when you choose to do so.
  • To notify you about changes to our products or services and keep you informed about our fees and charges.
  • To provide service(s) you have requested.
  • To allow you to access and use the Website and to register for an account.
  • To carry out activities in the legitimate interest of Overdrive, for example, pursuing debt, ensuring the security of our services and Website.
  • To verify your identity in order to prevent and detect any illegal activities.

  • For the purpose of improving and maintaining our Website, preparing reports, or compiling statistics in order to improve our services. Such details will be anonymised as far as is reasonably possible, and you will not be identifiable from the data collected.
  • To take other actions you request when you supply the information.

3. App Store Listing and In-App Policy Reference

This Privacy Policy is linked on our app’s store listing page in the Google Play Console and within the app itself. It references Overdrive IoT Pte Ltd, as named in the app’s Google Play listing.

4. Sharing and Disclosing your Personal Information

We do not share or disclose any of your personal information without your consent, other than for the purposes specified in this notice or where there is a legal requirement.

5. Safeguarding Measures

Overdrive takes your privacy seriously, and we take every reasonable measure and precaution to protect and secure your personal data. We work hard to protect you and your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction and have several layers of security measures in place, including:

  • SSL
  • Encryption
  • Pseudonymisation
  • Best Practices
  • Restriction
  • IT
  • Authentication

6. Access and Correction

You may write in to us, based on reasonable grounds, to find out how we have been using or disclosing your personal data. We are obligated under the PDPA to allow you access to your personal data of the past one year, we may need to verify your identity by checking your NRIC or other legal identification document. We will try to respond to your request within 30 days. By which time we will give you an estimate of how long it is going to take to retrieve all the relevant data, how much we will charge you for procession the request.

7. Accuracy

We will take reasonable precautions and verification checks to ensure that the personal data we have collected from you is reasonably accurate, complete and up-to-date. From time to time, we will do a verification exercise for you to update us on any changes to your personal data. If you are a client or customer, it is important that you update us if there are any changes in your personal information such as your home address.

8. Withdrawal of Consent

The consent that you provide for the collection, use and disclosure of your personal data will remain valid until such time it is being withdrawn by you in writing. You may withdraw your consent and request us to stop using and/or disclosing your Personal Data for any or all of the purposes set our in Clause 2 above by submitting your written request to our Data Protection Officer in the manner prescribed below.

Upon receipt of your written request to withdraw your consent, we may require a reasonable time (depending on the complexity of the request and its impact on our relationship with you) for your request to be processed and for us to notify you of the consequences of us acceding to the same, including any legal consequences which may affect your rights and liabilities to us. In general, we shall seek to process your request within ten (10) business days of receiving it.

Whilst we respect your decision to withdraw your consent, please note that if you withdraw your consent for us to use your Personal Data for any purposes which we regards as necessary to provide you subscription benefits and services supplied by or through us, we may no longer be in a position to continue to provide subscription benefits and services to you. We shall, in such circumstances, notify you before completing the processing of your request. Should you decide to cancel your withdrawal of consent, please inform us in writing in the manner described in Clause 6 below.

Please note that withdrawing your consent does not affect our right to continue to collect, use and disclose Personal Data where such collection, use, and disclosure without your consent is permitted or required under applicable laws.

10. Protection of Personal Data

To safeguard your personal data from unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal or similar risks, we have introduced appropriate administrative, physical and technical measures such as up-to-date antivirus protection, encryption and the use of privacy filters to secure all storage and transmission of personal data by us, and disclosing personal data both internally and to our authorised third party service providers and agents only on a need-to-know basis.

You should be aware, however, that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. While security cannot be guaranteed, we strive to protect the security of your information and are constantly reviewing and enhancing our information security measures.

If applicable, you undertake to keep your username and password secure and confidential and shall not disclose or permit it to be disclosed to any unauthorised person, and to inform us as soon as reasonably practicable of you know or suspect that someone else knows your username and password or believe the confidentiality of your username and password has been lost, stolen or compromised in any way or that actual or possible unauthorised transactions have taken place. We are not liable for any damages resulting from any security breaches, on authorised and/or fraudulent use of your username and password.

11. Retention of Personal Data

We may retain your Personal Data for as long as it is necessary to fulfil the purpose(s) for which it was collected or as required or permitted by applicable laws.

We will cease to retain your Personal Data, or remove the means by which the data can be associated with you, as soon as it is reasonable to assume that such retention no longer serves the purpose(s) for which the Personal Data was collected and is no longer necessary for legal or business purposes.

12. Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. By continuing to use the services and our Website, you agree to the latest version of our Privacy Policy. Any changes we make to our Privacy Policy in the future will be posted on our Website and, where appropriate, notified to you by email.
